Our Life on Christ

Statement of Faith

Who God is

• We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God
(2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:20--21, ).

• We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:26, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30).

• We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33--38); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:34-35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His sacrificial and atoning death (I Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9); His resurrection (John 11:25, I Corinthians 15:3—5); His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); His personal return to earth in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11-16).

Who we should be

• We believe that it is necessary to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of the human nature, that all are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God's grace through faith alone are we saved (John 3:16-19; 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5).

• We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and those who are not unto the resurrection of condemnation (John 5:28-29).

• We believe in the spiritual unity of the believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:9, I Corinthians 12:12-13, Galatians 3:26-28).

• We believe that Christians are able to live godly lives due to indwelling of the Holy Spirit  (Romans 8:13-17; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18, 1 John 4:13).

• We believe that we, as Christians, are examples of God’s love in this world. It is this love that we desire to have and without which we have no right to call ourselves Christians (I John 4:16--21).

• We believe it is the requirement of all of God’s people to go into the whole world and to preach the Gospel to every living creature and to help the weak and weary. (Mark 16:15, Matthew 28:19-20, Isaiah 50:4, Acts 20:35)

How to gain salvation

  1. Admit that you are a sinner.
“…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” -Romans 3:23

  1. Understand that you deserve death for your sin.
“For the wages of sin is death…” -Romans 6:23a

  1. Ask God to forgive and save you.
“…the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” -Romans 6:23b

  1. Give your life to God. He loves you. His love poured out in Jesus on the cross is our only hope to have forgiveness and change. His love bought you from being a slave to sin. His love is what saves you—not religion, or church membership.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” -Romans 5:8

  1. Call out to God in the name of Jesus. Ask Him into your heart.
“…if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved…Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” -Romans 10:9—10, 13
